Police Station & Community Center
Pittsburgh, PA
This project aims to create a space where the police and community can integrate and understand each other. In order to achieve this goal, this project is a combination of the community center and police station. The solid part represents the police department and the void part represents the civic part of the project. There is also a semi-solid part where private civic activities happen. The civic part has an atrium where it gets sunlight directly from the glass roof. The semi-solid part includes vegetation in order to increase interaction between nature and community. Furthermore, the solid part has balconies with vegetation in purpose of strengthening the dialogue between police and civic part.
